Nails of the week: Sinful Colors Cinderella

Hi!

I noticed the Sinful Colors stand in boots last week. I have heard them mentioned on some US based blogs in the past but this was the first time I saw them in the UK and considering the minuscule £1.99 price tag thought it was worth trying them out. I got 2 shades - Boogie Nights and Cinderella.

I tried on Cinderella last night. It is a gorgeous cream baby blue colour with fine pink and gold glitter through it. I am very impressed with the colour payoff - I managed to get the bottle colour after only 2 coats although the polish is not as smooth as I would like - the shimmer seems to leave the texture somewhat grainy. With a decent top coat over it though the polish is smooth as Cinderella's glass slippers! Oh dear. That was a terrible attempt to be funny. I don't even know if her glass slippers were smooth. Maybe they were a frosted glass. Or an engraved glass even. Anyways I am going off on a tangent. Back to the polish.

The packaging looks much more high end than I would expect for a bargain nail polish - a glass bottle with a matte black lid. The brush is a decent size too and you can easily cover a nail in 3 strokes.

Your £1.99 gets you 15ml of product and considering the quality of the polish I would say that's a definite bargain!
Overall I am impressed with Sinful Colors and will definitely be picking up some more of these soon.

Do you have any beauty bargain recommendations?

Outfit Of the Day: Luxe Leopard

Hi!

These boots most definitely not made for walking! I love these so much but they are the most painful boots I have ever owned! :(

Dress - Similar here (warehouse)
Vest - Primark
Pendant - Primark
Tights - M&S
Boots - similar here (ASOS)

I wore this outfit to go out for drinks a few nights ago but I forgot to take pictures until I got home - which is why my hair looks slightly disheveled. lol
I love wearing quite a plain outfit with some statement heels and these leopard print ankle boots definitely fit the bill!
I think that black, gold and leopard is such a classic colour/pattern combo that you can wear it any season and still look stylish no matter what the current trends are.
This dress is simple, comfy and flattering - all the check boxes are ticked! I love the gold detailing on the dress as it is subtle enough that you only notice it if the light hits it.

What is your favourite statement piece to jazz up an otherwise plain outfit?

New Lover: Nars Lip Pencil Review

Hi!

I was given this sample of the Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover a while ago when I got my Clarisonic in Sephora. I found it around 6 weeks ago when have a bit of a beauty spring clean and I absolutely fell in love with it.

I don't know how I didn't realize it sooner but this is the perfect every day lip colour. I feel like this is said all too often in the blogosphere but is really is that my-lips-but-better shade.

It is like a strawberry pink with a little gold shimmer through it. I believe some people compare it to Nars Orgasm blusher in colour but I cannot comment as I do not own it (although I may have to go and get it now if this is anything to go by!) The formula of this is also gorgeous. The texture is buttery smooth and moisturising - described by Nars as "velvet". It is not too soft that it melts but it glides over your lips leaving just enough of that glossy translucent colour to make your lips perfect and ever so slight bee stung. It lasts a decent amount of time too - I normally only retouch once in the day around lunchtime and given this doesn't claim to be a long wear product I think that's pretty decent. I like the fact that it comes in stick form as it is easy to reapply on the go.

P.S. Apologies for the poor quality pictures I just snapped them quickly on my phone.

Outfit Of The Day: When in Monochrome...

Hiya!

Jacket - sample sale (similar here)
Burnout Tee - H&M
Jeggings - Primark
Boots - Zara (similar here)

This is what I wore to work the other day. I am loving the monochrome trend at the moment as it is really easy to wear and suits everyone. I love wearing things like this to work - just throw on any old top and jeans but if you put a fitted jacket over it and pop on a pair of heels and you look immediately put together but still comfy. Nailed it!

I got this jacket in a sample sale about 3 years ago and everyone laughed at me because they said it was a "granny" jacket. Well look who's laughing now? I wear this jacket all the time (and have done ever since I got it). I am not that bothered about a trend if I find something I like that suits me. It is getting a bit old now and could do with some TLC - only one lonesome button remains and it could do with some alone time in the washing machine with Vanish to make the white a bit "whiter" but I still love it.

What item in your wardrobe has probably seen better days but you just can't bear to part with it?

Outfit Of The Day: Vintage Jacket

Hey!

Jacket - vintage (stolen from my mum)
Leggings - Principles Petite
Shoes - similar here

I absolutely love this outfit - I think it is a great alternative for an LBD. The jacket gives it enough of a unique look that it doesn't just look like any old generic black top and trousers. I found this jacket in my mums wardrobe a few years ago and couldn't believe I had never seen her wear it. I love everything about it - the double breasted style, the mix of matte and shiny textures, the batwing sleeves and of course the massive bow at the back. It is so easy and comfortable to wear too - throw on any old black leggings and a pair of heels and your good to go.

This is definitely the best vintage find I have ever scored - and I only had to rummage through mums old stuff to find it! What's your favourite vintage treasure?

Outfit Of The Day: I Heart Pinafores

Hey!

Black Pinafore with Hearts - Primark
White Burnout Tee - Primark
Black tights - M&S
Black Ankle Boots - Zara (similar here)

I am so in love with this pinafore! Cute, monochrome, easy to wear and comfortable - what more could you want. It  is lightweight so can easily be layered in this unseasonably cold weather (I threw on a black cardi before going out - as well as a coat, hat and scarf!) and I can't wait until summer when I can team it with just some bright ballet flats and matching colourful tee!

Check out some of the items from the outfit in my recent Primark haul here:
